Abstract
Most leadership development programs have great tools for assessing leadership and developing proficiency in a variety of leadership skills. What is missing is an companion theory of leadership that is easy to operationalize and yet is based upon solid research. This session presents a teachable leadership model that provides a more practical definition of leadership along with leadership strategies that help leaders know which leadership skills to apply in a given situation.

  • Articulate a definition of leadership that provides a results rather than process-based focus for leadership development programming.
  • Describe the 4 basic leadership strategies used by successful leaders.
  • Describe at least three key considerations that will enable you to develop more effective leadership development programs.
