Poster Session

Describing a High Potential Female Leader

Lead Presenter
Stefanie Mockler

Amanda Conlin
Arielle Rogers

Female leaders receive backlash for failing to conform to gender stereotypes (e.g., cooperative), yet are similarly punished for subscribing to characteristics typically considered ‘masculine’ (e.g., agentic; Rudman & Glick, 2001). However, traditionally ‘feminine’ behaviors could benefit leaders, especially in their ability to be transformative leaders (Eagly & Carli, 2003; Eagly et al., 2003). This presentation will describe gender differences in leadership behavior, and construct a profile for high potential female leaders in a male-dominated organization.
