Welcome Students — Join us at the SCP 2024 Conference.
What is Division 13?
Division 13 is a group of psychologist who use their skills and training in the business world. Our members come from an array of backgrounds, who share the common bond of applying psychological principles in the corporate setting. Health care, government, private equity, banking, mining, and technology are some of the industries being served by our membership. Consulting in this sector is competitive, and Division 13’s membership comprises some of the very successful members of this community.
Why would I want to get join/get involved in Division 13?
Doing so is one of the best ways to determine if consulting is a good career for those are who interested. For those who are, it is a warm group of excellent practitioners where professional development can be furthered, networks established and friendships built.
Interested in Volunteering at the SCP Conference?

Society of Consulting Psychology
Graduate Student Consortium
Austin, TX
Feb 1, 2024
Do you aspire to career in consulting psychology? Do you want to discover a professional community that can advance your career potential? Do you want to learn more about how professionals in this field make a difference in the lives of leaders, teams and entire organizations?
Each year, members of the Society of Consulting Psychology (APA Division 13) gather in early February to share best practices, learn from each other, and experience being part of a supportive professional community. The day preceding our annual conference, we will hold a Graduate Student Consortium, open to anyone enrolled in graduate-level psychology programs. During this full day event you will
- Hear how other psychologists have shaped their careers in consulting services
- Benchmark different graduate programs, comparing what we each learn and how we build readiness for this work while still working toward a degree
- Learn how the field of consulting psychology is being impacted by advances in technology, DEI, and ESG, and how to embed these developments in your own work
- Discover how becoming active in professional associations, social media, conferences and publishing to help build your career and highlight your capabilities
- Join a community of other psychology graduate students in advance of the conference.
We know that participating in events like this one increases your capacity to get value out of a professional conference. We also know that some of the people you meet will become important parts of your professional network as you seek employment and consulting opportunities. Significant mentor and peer relationships often emerge for experiences like this.
For those interested, the conference also provides for a Poster session, an opportunity to submit, present and discuss your work to other consulting psychology professionals.
