SCP 2025 Annual Conference: President’s Message
I am delighted to welcome you to the website of the 2025 Society of Consulting Psychology’s annual conference, which will take place in Charleston, South Carolina. Our theme this year is “Collaboration, Community and Common ground”, which focuses on how we work with organizations, leaders and teams to help them discover their future potential. As consulting psychologists we see the effects of polarization, including organizational divisiveness and paralysis, and use our skills to invite productive change. This conference is an opportunity for us to learn together and from others as we elevate our own professional potential.
Our annual conference is a time to give pause as you encounter new ways of approaching the craft of your profession. It is a time to be inspired as you discover ways to incorporate into your own consulting repertoire what you are learning while you are here. It is also a time to feel hopeful as a profession, as we surround ourselves among this wonderful community of consulting psychologists, and as we meet the next generation of talented practitioners.
For those contemplating attending your first SCP conference, be assured that you will walk away feeling that your time was well-spent. We welcome students to our conference, hoping that you will discover not only what our profession has to offer, but also what our members have to offer. Whatever professional stage you may be, this conference is a place to share your insights, to learn from others, and discover new dimensions of common ground.I encourage everyone that comes to be intentional about creating a safe, welcoming, and enriching environment for all, recognizing and valuing the unique experiences and perspectives of our members. Let us remember our core values of mutual respect, responsibility, and integrity that serve as a guide for all our members:
- Mutual respect: Allowing others to be themselves and express themselves in ways that are open and inclusive of others’ differences/diverse selves.
- Responsibility: Holding ourselves accountable to the psychological climate of our society.
- Integrity: Valuing the science of psychology, its methods, and its application.

Few cities have the welcoming charm of Charleston, and The Mills House puts you right at the heart of its historic downtown. Rich history, vibrant culture, incredible architecture, coastal havens. Romantic, intriguing, and a real pleasure to explore. You never know where your day will lead when you step outside our beautiful doors. Walk to the Congress Ave Bridge near sunset in the summer to experience Austin’s famous bat show, featuring more than 1.5 million Mexican free-tailed bats.
