Event Description
Storytelling is a powerful tool in conflict negotiation, and advocacy, and healing division. By engaging the emotional and personal dimensions of a narrative, storytelling fosters empathy, enhances understanding, and bridges divides between opposing parties. Dr. Hollister will explore how stories, unlike facts or arguments, create a shared human experience, helping participants move beyond entrenched positions and toward collaborative solutions. Using real-world examples and practical strategies, attendees will learn how to effectively incorporate storytelling into their conflict resolution and problem-solving toolkit.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the Role of Storytelling in Conflict Resolution: Attendees will learn how storytelling fosters empathy and mutual understanding, helping to de-escalate conflicts and build connections between opposing parties.
  • Develop Practical Storytelling Techniques for Negotiation: Participants will explore actionable strategies for incorporating storytelling into conflict negotiation, advocacy, and relationship building, focusing on how narratives can be used to shift perspectives and facilitate dialogue.
  • Apply Storytelling to Real-World Conflict Scenarios: Through case studies and examples, attendees will gain insights into applying storytelling to resolve conflicts in professional, interpersonal, and organizational settings.
